Summary, etc. The medical condition which is caused by abrupt and uncontrolled electrical disturbances in the brain is called seizure. It can affect a person’s movements, behavior, levels of consciousness and feelings. A few common causes of seizures are closed head injury, meningitis and stroke. Seizures are classified as either focal seizures and generalized seizures. Focal seizures are caused when there is unusual electrical activity in a particular part of the brain, while generalized seizures involve all the areas of the brain. Generalized seizures are further classified into clonic seizures, tonic seizures, atonic seizures, myoclonic seizures, etc. There are various complications and accidents which can be caused due to seizures such as falling, car accidents, drowning and emotional health issues.
