Liver fibrosis is a medical condition wherein the liver becomes scarred and is unable to function properly. It is the first stage of liver scarring and has the potential to develop into liver cirrhosis. Medications and lifestyle changes can prevent the advancement of liver fibrosis. It is often not diagnosed during its initial stages, since symptoms do not occur until the severity increases. Symptoms in the advanced stages may include loss of appetite, difficulty in thinking clearly, fluid buildup in the legs or stomach, jaundice, nausea, weight loss and weakness. This book provides significant information of this discipline to help develop a good understanding of liver fibrosis. Its objective is to give a general view of the different assessment and integrative treatment methods of this disease. This book will serve as a reference to a broad spectrum of readers.
